GALILEO Menu Customization
Libraries can work with GALILEO to create a single place for their users to access all of the online library resources (databases, ejournals, ebooks, and websites) that libraries present on the library website. Resources can be branded with a logo or text. Some remote access methods are supported as well. All of this is made possible through the GALILEO Local Resource Integration (GLRI) toolkit.
Example:

Options for Use of the GALILEO Local Resource Integration Toolkit
- Library management
- Libraries will be provided access to a GLRI toolkit workspace where they can add and maintain locally-purchased databases to GALILEO menus.
- The library must learn to use the GLRI tools. Documentation is provided that should be sufficient for someone with experience working with electronic resources and resource vendors. Training may be available based on demand.
- The library must provide all technical support for locally-purchased databases including initial set up, on-going end user technical support, and communication with the database vendor.
- Assisted management
- For those libraries with limited staff resources, GALILEO will provide assistance adding resources to their menus as time permits.
- The library must provide all technical support for locally-purchased databases. This includes on-going end user technical support and communication with the database vendor.
- The library must provide all pertinent descriptive and technical
information about the database to GALILEO Support Services, including:
- URL for IP access
- Remote access URL (or other remote access method)
- Descriptive information for scope screen
- GALILEO subject and Try First categories
- GALILEO Support Services will provide all necessary forms and documentation for required technical and descriptive information.
