What is the GALILEO upgrade?

The GALILEO Upgrade is a multi-year project approved by the GALILEO Steering Committee and funded by the participating GALILEO libraries in order to provide the following goals and features:
- Enhance usability and ease of access for users, including more intuitive searching (complete)
- Provide interfaces that are customized for each user community (complete with additional new Kid's interface on the way)
- Provide enhanced resource management capabilities, including more customization of menus for user communities and individual institutions (complete)
- Provide cross-database searching opportunities, including search sets that are customized per user community (complete)
- Provide linking among GALILEO resources in order to better leverage investments in full-text, including a GALILEO ejournal locater (complete)
- Enable access to content and features from library websites, online courseware, campus portals, and other environments that better meet user needs (in process)
- Provide enhanced opportunities for user personalization (in process)
The GALILEO Upgrade project site features information about the project, including an overview, related documents, and status reports.
