How do I clear cache?
PeopleSoft HRMS is web-based, so follow the instructions provided by your browser to clear cache.
For Internet Explorer: Select Tools. Click Internet Options. With the General tab selected, click Delete
Files in the Temporary Internet files section. Click OK to close the window.
What should I do if my query results will not open in EXCEL?
Consult with your local IT professionals to determine whether the Security level settings on your internet browser are affecting
queries run to EXCEL. If so, consider customizing the security settings and adding https://gafirst.usg.edu as a Trusted Site to
your web browser.
How can Account Numbers be handled in EXCEL?
- Rename the xxx.csv file to change the file extension to .txt - Select [Yes] when prompted: If you change a file name extension, the file may become unusable. Are you sure you want to change it?
- In MS EXCEL, select File>Open, and select the borrf96bxxxx.txt file from the Temp directory.
• In Step 1 of 3 in the Text Import Wizard, verify that the radio button for the Original data type is set to Delimited.
• Click on Next to advance to Step 2 of 3 in the Import Wizard.
• Comma should be the only Delimiter checked. Leave the Text qualifier as " .
• Click on Next to go to Step 3 of 3.
• With the first column to the left highlighted, select the Text radio button in the Column data format box.
• Click Finish. - Once the report opens in Microsoft Excel, increase the width of the column containing the account numbers so that all 21 digits
of the Account Code are visible.
How do I Create or Delete a run control ID?
Presently, Run Controls cannot be deleted. To create a new run control when running a SQR, COBOL or Crystal process,
simply select the Add a New Value tab when prompted for a Run Control ID
What sequence number should I use when adding an account code?
To determine the sequence number to use when adding an account code to the Account Code Table:
- Go to Set up HRMS, Product Related, Commitment Accounting, Budget Information, Find an Existing Value.
- Enter the first 18 digits of the account code. Click OK.
- All account codes with the same DeptID, Fund Code, and Account will display on the screen.
- Note the last sequence number used in this list of account numbers. Use the next consecutive number as the sequence number when adding the new account code to the Account Code Table.
Why does the Biweekly Time Entry panel show last pay period’s data?
Both the biweekly and monthly time entry panels normally display time entry rows for the current pay period based on today’s
date. If it is necessary to enter time early, a future date may be specified to alter this selection at Board of Regents, BOR Time
Entry, Utilities, Override BiWkly/Monthly Time Entry Date. If this date field is not cleared out, the time entry panels will
continue to be based on the Override Date entered.
How do I identify an employee’s supervisor in PeopleSoft when the Supervisor ID field on the Job Data – Work Location page
is grayed out?
The identification of a supervisor is done at the Position Level in V8 and must be done on the Position Data pages. There is a
“Reports To” field on the Work Location Section of the Description page. In this field, you can enter the Position number of
the Supervisor. In Job Data, the Position Number of the Supervisor will populate the “Reports To” field and the incumbent in
the Supervisor’s Position Number will populate the “ID” field below. Please note that this functionality requires that the
Supervisors be placed in unique positions rather than multi-incumbent positions.
How can I print a SQR report from a file?
- Set up your printer as a Send To destination. Your local IT department should be able to assist you in customizing Send To so that you can simply right-click a document and select your printer from the Send To options.
- Save the sqr output file. Assume, for example, the file is located in the c:temp directory and is named PAY001.LIS.
- Open a DOS window.
- Type “copy c:temppay001.lis prn” (without the quotation marks), and hit return. If you wish to print to a network printer,
substitute “prn” with networkpathprinter.
- The report should now be spooling to the printer; close the DOS window to return to Windows.
How do I subscribe to or un-subscribe from the FIRST-LP Listserve?
To subscribe to the FIRST-LP list send an e-mail addressed to: listserv@listserv.uga.edu. You do not need to include a
"Subject" line in the e-mail. In the text area of the e-mail include only: subscribe FIRST-LP full name
For example: subscribe FIRST-LP John Doe
After you are added to a list you may post to that list by sending e-mail to: FIRST-LP@listserv.uga.edu. Do include a subject
and remember that everyone on the list sees your post. Also, remember when replying to an individual to address your e-mail
to that person and not the list.
You may remove yourself from the list by sending an e-mail addressed to: listserv@listserv.uga.edu . You do not need to
include a "Subject" line in the e-mail. In the text area of the e-mail include only: unsubscribe FIRST-LP.

How can I view file extensions?
File extensions, such as .xls or .doc, indicate whether a file is an Excel Spreadsheet, a Word document, or a file type related to
some other application. If you are using Windows XP and the file extensions are hidden from your view, Select Folder
Options from the Tools menu in the My Computer window (Start => My Computer). Click on the View tab and uncheck the
box to Hide extensions for known file types, then click OK and close the window.
Can I download files from this website?
Downloadable documentation on the HRMS website comes in two different formats, Microsoft Word or Excel, and PDF.
Word and Excel files will have a file size to the right of the link.To open a Microsoft Word or Excel document, simply click on the link. The appropriate Microsoft Office application will
open along with the document. You can then continue to view and/or print the document as needed.To save a Microsoft Word or Excel document from this website, right-click on the link and select the "Save Link As" option.
This will bring up a dialog box asking where you wish to save the file and what you wish to call it. Once you are satisfied with
