BCBS Interface: Coverage Cancel and Coverage Begin Dates in Q-Care
Please note that if you have a coverage cancel date, or a coverage begin date that is later than the current coverage cancel date or coverage begin date in QCare, then QCare will not update the employee's record with the later date from PeopleSoft. It will ignore the date, but will leave the status as cancelled.
Example: An employee has a medical coverage cancel date in PeopleSoft of 06/30/02, but in QCare their coverage cancel date is 01/01/02. QCare will not change the employee's cancel date to 06/30/02 because according to its own records on 06/30/02 the employee was already cancelled.
To rectify problems with employees that have a coverage begin date or coverage cancel date in QCare that falls on the calendar before the effective date in PeopleSoft, and you feel that PeopleSoft is correct, please call BCBSGA customer service and request that the date be manually changed in QCare. This will prevent the employee's claims that fall between the date in QCare and the date in PeopleSoft from being rejected.
Keep in mind that if you actually are sending over a cancel date or begin date from PeopleSoft that falls before what is in QCare, QCare will update to the earlier date.
