PeopleSoft HRMS Known Issues and Information:
Pay Increases - October 1
Every biweekly employee receiving a pay increase effective 10/1/01 will have three paylines created in the payroll for P/E 10/12/01. One payline will have a begin date of 9/29/01 and an end date of 9/30/01 and will show the old rate of pay. One payline will have a begin date of 10/1/01 and an end date of 10/5/01. The other payline will have a begin date of 10/6/01 and an end date of 10/12/01. Both of these paylines will show the new rate of pay.
Pay Edit will display the following warning message for all employees with a 10/1/01 pay rate change:
** WARNING ** Active job #0 Job Action this pd. Erncd=REG,Wk1=0.0,Wk2=0.0. Action=PAY,Effdt=10/01
This is just a warning message. Hours entered will clear Pay Edit and will be updated to the payline after Pay Update is run, as usual.
If no exception time is entered for B06 employees, the employees' standard hours will default to the paylines ending 10/5 and 10/12. If time is entered using the time entry panels, Week 1 will post to the payline ending 10/5, Week 2 will post to the payline ending 10/12.
If an employee works on 9/29 or 9/30 and should be paid his old rate of pay, enter the time through the time entry panels (if the employee has exception time) so that sick and vacation hours taken may be validated against leave balances. Then, after the final Pay Update has been run, reduce the hours on the 10/5 payline and add them to the payline for 9/29 to 9/30.
