SSN (National ID) Issues after release 2.10

Posted July 25, 2002.
The following issues have been identified regarding the NID field on the Eligibility/Identity panel in Administer Workforce (U.S.):

Unable to rehire a retiree: After the NID field is populated, the error message "National ID is duplicated (2000,1)" is displayed and the system will not allow the panel to be saved.

Warning message appears when entering the SSN of a new hire or correcting the SSN of an existing employee: If attempting to hire an employee or correct the SSN of an existing employee after the NID field has been entered and saved one time (on a previous hire or correction), this message will appear after the NID field is populated, "Warning--National ID is duplicated (2000,1)". This message is a warning only and the system will allow the panel to be saved. Logging out and back into PeopleSoft will begin the cycle again.

Warning and error messages appear when attempting to enter a SSN beginning with 000, 666, 729 - 749, or 764 - 999: When attempting to hire an employee with a SSN beginning with 000, 666, 729 - 749, or 764 - 999, the following warning message will appear: "Warning--National Id cannot begin with 000, 666, 729-749, or 764-999(1000,473)". The warning message will be followed by an error message "National Id cannot begin with 000, 666, 729-749, or 764-999(1000,473)". The system will not allow this panel to be saved.

These issues will be corrected in the next Peoplesoft HRMS release 2.11. This release is scheduled for August 13, 2002.
