Additional Information Regarding the Georgia Higher Education

Additional Information Regarding the Georgia Higher Education Savings Plan:

Section II of the GHESP Authorization for Automatic Payroll Deduction form distributed from the state web site is entitled "Employer Establishment Instructions". This section provides instruction on how to complete direct deposit information so that the employee's designated amount to GHESP will be deposited directly into the employee's GHESP account at TIAA-CREF. This is not the method the institution will use in setting up employee GHESP participation. The employee will be enrolled into the GHESP general deduction. GHESP will be deducted and remitted as any other general deduction.

The deduction check should be made to Georgia Higher Education Savings Plan and mailed to this address:

Georgia Higher Education Saving Plan
P.O. Box 105307
Atlanta, GA 30348-5307

Included with the check should be a summary report of the payroll deductions for the month (including name and SS# of each employee). TIAA-CREF will not be sending a monthly bill for these fees, so it is important that the institution remit this summary of the deductions for credit to the proper account. The name and contact number of the person remitting the report should also be included so that they have contact should any questions arise.
