Quarter End Checklist - Step VII - Checking for Clean Balances on Year End Reports
The Tax Form Definition table must have an effective dated row for 01/01/2002 populated with information matching the 01/01/2001 row for Tax Form ID = W-2 in order to receive correct data when running the year end processes and reports used in comparing YTD and YTD balances.
If you do not already have a 01/01/2002 row, go to Compensate Employees>Manage Annual Tax Rptg (US)>Setup>Tax Form Definition>Tax Form Definition>Update Display. Select Tax Form Definition = W-2 for Effective Date = 01/01/2001. Insert a row using the outer scroll bar (or with the effective date field highlighted) and make the Effective Date of the new row = 01/01/2002. Verify that the Box # fields and description fields are populated. Save the panel.
If you already have a 01/01/2002 row but the Box # fields and description fields are not populated, we recommend that you not update this row manually. Instead, go to Compensate Employees>Manage Annual Tax Rptg (US)>Setup>Tax Form Definition>Tax Form Definition>Correction. Select Tax Form Definition = W-2 for Effective Date = 01/01/2002. Using the outer scroll bar (or with the effective date field highlighted), delete this row. Save the panel. Go to Compensate Employees>Manage Annual Tax Rptg (US)>Setup>Tax Form Definition>Tax Form Definition>Update Display. Select Tax Form Definition = W-2 for Effective Date = 01/01/2001. Insert a row using the outer scroll bar and make the Effective Date = 01/01/2002. Verify that the Box # fields and description fields are populated. Save the panel.
