Additional Pay w/Multiple Records

PeopleSoft HRMS Known Issues and Information:

Additional Pay

When it is necessary to set up more than one Additional Pay record with the same Earnings Code for an employee, a new Additional Sequence # should be entered. Numbers 1-99 may be used as Additional Sequence #s to differentiate between Additional Pay records. (This is true even if the Additional Pay records have different effective dates.)

If additional pay records exist for an employee with common Additional Sequence #s and Earnings Codes, users should be mindful that reversing a check or advice containing such additional pay may cause the Current Goal Balance on the Additional Pay panel to be incorrect. Also, if common Additional Sequence #s are used, and any change is made to the Additional Pay panel, PS might be unable to differentiate between the Additional Pays (even though they have different effective dates) and the Additional Pay will continue even after the goal balance has been met.

It should be noted that in the event that an Additional Pay needs to be stopped prior to the employee reaching the goal balance, that an end date needs to be entered on that Additional Pay. Entering a new effective dated row with a more recent date will not necessarily stop the Additional Pay.
