TAX910AU.SQR -- YE Data Audit, Issue with Sort Option
When running the TAX910AU (YE Data Audit -- step III B of the Calendar Year Process Checklist), please indicate "None" in the field "Sort Report By:". We have learned that using a sort option of Department, Paygroup, Maildrop, State, State/Locality, and Zip will cause newly hired employees to be excluded from this report and will result in erroneous totals.
It is fine to choose Emplid, SSN, or Employee Last Name in the "Within Sort, Order By:" field if you would like.
A corrected program should be delivered by PeopleSoft before next year's W-2 processing cycle.
Additional Information Regarding PeopleSoft's Deduction Override Processing
PeopleSoft's new Deduction Override Processing was delivered in the BOR Release 2.14 on 12/05/2002 (see Release Notes). The changes PeopleSoft made in deduction processing included how the Deductions Taken field on the payline is used. All paylines associated with a single check for an employee will have the same value in the Deductions Taken field. A change made to the Deductions Taken field on one payline will result in a change to all the paylines that produce a single check for a specific employee. The only way to make the Deductions Taken field different from the employees other paylines is to enter a check # in the Separate Check field. This will result in a separate check for the employee with deductions taken according to the selection made in the Deductions Taken field for that payline.
Business process "PAY 215 - One-Time Adjustments on the Payline" will be updated next week with this information.
