KI0073 - ERS New Pension System (P.A.R.I.S.) and Parallel Testing

SUBJECT: 2007 Employer Reporting Changes – tentatively going LIVE May 2007.

PURPOSE: To inform users of the parallel testing requested by ERS. ERS is requesting employers to submit both a test and regular employee detail data file for March 2007.

BACKGROUND: Employees' Retirement System of Georgia communicated to you last summer of their intent to implement a new enhanced pension system, Pension and Retirement Information System (P.A.R.I.S.). The data file layout changed in compliance with the new system. Modifications to the file layout will combine both the CON and PER files into one single file, and provide additional reporting information as required by ERS. The report format has been modified to include additional fields identifying Plan, Plan Eligibility Date, Plan Termination Date, Payment Reason and Percent Time. The Temp Table has been modified to provide added functionality enabling our users to report prior period adjustments, eliminating the requirement for paper requests for adjustments.

FUNCTIONAL IMPACT: Users must complete the March monthly reporting as close to April 1st as possible but in no event later than April 4th. After the completion of Release 3.25 scheduled for April 6th, users must complete the Test file for March monthly reporting no later than April 10th. User must use the attached instructions for completing the test file submission.

In additions, Business Process RPT310 – ERS_DEFCON Retirement Reporting will be modified and made available as soon as ERS releases final instructions. ERS has indicated this information would be communicated to users mid-April.
