Please distribute the following as needed. Action is required for this follow-up information. Follow up to KI0070 - Format Changes to TAX960ST. Please Do NOT create diskette for submission to State of Georgia until further notice FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION: Modifications to the TAX960ST program will be delivered via Release 3.24 which has been rescheduled to be Friday, February 23, 2007. Release 3.24 will include TAX960ST and other sqrs delivered with the PeopleSoft Tax Update 07-A and the recent Daylight Saving Time changes. After the completion of Release 3.24 (2/23/07), users will need to take the following steps. (Please refer to Business Process PAY530 - Calendar Year End Checklist for detailed information) 1. Step 19. Run the TAX960ST.SQR Process. 2. Step 19. Copy the file(s) to diskette and submit to the State of Georgia. 3. Step 21. Run the TAX962ST.SQR Process. 4. Verify wage and taxes with TAX960FD Trace File and reconcile with the Form G-7 Withholding Quarterly Return for the year. (This is for validation purposes only, formal reconcilement processes may have already been completed). NOTE: Due to the timing of Release 3.24 (2/23/07) and the deadline for submission of magnetic media is 2/28/07, institutions will only have 4 days to rerun the above processes. If your institution already has time off scheduled and needs assistance in completing these processes, please advise OIIT HelpDesk as soon as possible. Please Do NOT create diskette for submission to State of Georgia until further notice. SUBJECT: Incorrect file format issue with the TAX960GA.001 file created from the Create State File (MMREF) program, TAX960ST. PURPOSE: To alert users to hold off submitting the state wage and withholding file to the State of Georgia FUNCTIONAL IMPACT: The Create State File (MMREF) program, TAX960ST creates the MMREF files for submission to the State of Georgia for 2006 state wage and withholding information. This process currently omits data field changes required by the State of Georgia. Such format change does NOT affect the actual W-2 data in the file. Users can still run TAX960ST and use the file created for review and reconcilement purposes. However if files are downloaded and submitted to the State of Georgia now, the information submitted will be incomplete and WILL BE rejected, thereby, creating subsequent problems for the institution. Modification to the program is to be delivered by PeopleSoft via PeopleSoft Tax Update 07-A. Tax Update 07-A will be included in our next regular Release 3.24 which is tentatively scheduled for March 23, 2007. Since the deadline for submission of magnetic media is 02/28/2007. We may either release the modified program via Interim Release 3.23a or reschedule Release 3.24 to be early February. Once again, diskettes should NOT be created until after this condition is corrected in either Interim Release 3.23a or regular Release 3.24. Once the modified program has been released, users will need to rerun the TAX960ST to create and download the TAX960GA.00X (in case of multiple files created) files to create diskettes for submission to the State of Georgia. Again, the deadline for submission of magnetic media is 02/28/2007. A follow up to this Known Issue will be sent out as soon as the release date has been scheduled.
