KI0069 – Create W-2 Forms Processes using M1286V form(TAX960MO and TAX960MX) Running to Error SUBJECT: The Year End Form Prints processes using M1286V form TAX960MO(using HP printer) and TAX960MX(using Xerox printer) run to error because of missing boxes. PURPOSE: To inform user of the issues where processes TAX960MO and TAX960MX run to error due to missing boxes on the Tax Form Print Parameters page for form M1286V on the 1/1/06 row. FUNCTIONAL IMPACT: The Create W-2 Forms processes TAX960MO and TAX960MX may run to error due to missing boxes on the Tax Form Print Parameters page for form M1286V on the 1/1/06 row. To resolve the issue, a script has been created to insert the following 8 boxes for form M1286V on the 1/1/06 row: The script is scheduled to be applied to all databases Wednesday(1/10/07) morning. 12AA Roth Contribution to 401(k) 12BB Uncoll Medicare tax on tips 12Q Nontaxable Combat Pay 12Y 409A Deferral NonQual Comp 12Z 409A Income NonQual Comp 14YN PA NQDC Deferrals 14YT PA NQDC Distributions 14ZN PA NQDC Earnings The above boxes were inserted by PeopleSoft Tax Update 06-F for the other 6 forms but not the M1286V form. Users who use the M1286V form for their W-2s and have employees who have deductions for either of the above boxes will encounter the problem listed above. Even though your institution may not have any employees who will have amount in either of those boxes for the tax year 2006, it is in our best practice to make sure the settings of the special M1286V form are in sync with the other 6 forms which PS supports. NOTE: The script will set the value of the "Print Column" to 43 for the boxes: 12AA, 12BB, 12Q, 12Y, and 12Z while setting the "Print Column" to 76 for boxes 14YN, 14YT, and 14ZN. Users may need to modify that value if a different value is used for boxes 12 and 14.
