KI0064 – Prior Period Adjustments inserted into the TRS/ORP Temp Table (TRS_CONTRIB_BOR) for a Posting Month before TRS/ORP Rate Changes (7/1/06) show as an incorrect calculation in the Trace File of the Create TRS/ORP Report process (BORIF04F) SUBJECT: Prior Period Adjustments made for Posting Months prior to 7/1/06 show in the error listing in the Trace File for the Create TRS/ORP Report process (BORIF04F) PURPOSE: Prior Period Adjustments to TRS/ORP reporting are necessary when employee deductions/employer contributions made in the Reporting Period should be credited by TRS to a previous month. FUNCTIONAL IMPACT: The Create TRS/ORP Report program (BORIF04F) calculates the 'Contract Gross Amount' * the current TRS/ORP employee/employer rates and compares the results with the 'Contract Ded Amount' (Employee) and 'Contract Employer Ded Amt' (Employer) as populated in the Edit TRS/ORP Temp Table (TRS_CONTRIB_BOR). If the employee/employer amounts calculated by the program are more than $.02 different than the amounts reported in the Edit TRS/ORP Temp Table, an error message is produced for the employee and displayed in the Trace File. Unless corrected, the information will not be included in the file for submission to TRS. Because the BORIF04F program uses the TRS/ORP rates in effect as of the Reporting Period (currently the rates effective 7/1/06) to validate the employee/employer amounts, any prior period adjustment entered into the TRS/ORP Temp Table with a posting month earlier than '200607' will result in an error and will be listed in the Trace File. A fix is being developed to correct this issue. If possible, please refrain from submitting any prior period adjustments for a period earlier than 7/1/06 until the modification to the BORIF04F program is released. The corrected program will be included in Release 3.20, scheduled for 8/25/06. If it is imperative that the prior period adjustment be made before the corrected program is released, please contact HRMS Production Support for assistance.
