Follow up to KI0060 – TRS Reporting for Summer Faculty Incorrect in Some Instances FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION: An interim release (3.19a) is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, July 18. This interim release will include modifications to BORIF04A to correct the reporting issues detailed below. There will be no down time for this release. A pre-release notification will be distributed as soon as the interim release date is confirmed. The original Known Issue is shown below. Please distribute the following as needed. Action is required. KI0060 – TRS Reporting for Summer Faculty Incorrect in Some Instances SUBJECT: TRS Summer Earnings/Contributions not reported correctly in these scenarios: Summer Earnings not reported correctly when funded by multiple departments. The Temp Table will split REG earnings into Contract Gross and SUM Gross; EE DED and ER DED are reflected on the SUM EE DED and SUM ER DED lines with correct amounts. ***Payroll deduction amounts are correct. (Note this issue will be corrected in Release 3.19a) Summer Earnings not reported correctly when a summer faculty has a payline inserted and is paid from an earn code other than REG. The Temp Table will double paycheck deductions and reflect negative amounts under the Contract lines; the Contract Gross will be blank; EE DED and ER DED will be negative amounts. ***Payroll deductions are correct.(Note this issue will be corrected in Release 3.19a Summer earnings greater than $17,500. will appear as earnings over the IRS Salary limit – To correct user should edit the gross salary, employee and employer deductions to move into the summer amount fields on the BORIF04D TRS File. (Note this issue will be corrected in Release 3.20). PURPOSE: To notify users of issues with summer faculty reporting for TRS and that the deadline for the detail file submission to TRS for the June reporting period has been extended to July 21, 2006. The Monthly Summarization Report must be completed on line and payment must be submitted by the normal processing date of July 10, 2006. If you need assistance in completing the Monthly Summarization Report, please call the helpdesk. FUNCTIONAL IMPACT: OIIT is analyzing the issues and will release a corrected sqr as soon as possible. Some databases will not be affected. It is recommended that you run the TRS process as usual to identify any issues. These issues should be reported to the helpdesk as soon as possible after running the process. If no errors are found in the file you may submit the BORIF04D as usual.
