| Update to PeopleSoft HRMS Known Issues and Information – 03/24/06 Please distribute the following as needed. Action is required. KI0055 - Changes in PeopleSoft Functionality Require Paysheet Confirmation when Compensation is Changed in Job Data for Hourly Employee In testing the PeopleSoft Tax Update 06A, we became aware that 'OK To Pay' is checked off for hourly, positive pay, employees (B07, B08, RET, RTB) when a change to the employee's compensation is made in the Job Data component after OK to Pay has originally been turned on for the Paysheet. (The RET pay group is set up as an hourly, positive pay pay group even though no compensation for retirees is entered in Job Data). Prior to the Tax Update, changes to compensation would require another Pay Calculation to be run, but OK to Pay would continue to be checked on. PeopleSoft's recommended solution to uncheck the 'Print Paysheets', 'Confirmation Required for Job Earnings on Paysheet', and the 'Confirmation Required for Partial Earnings on Paysheet' checkboxes results in OK to Pay set to "ON" for all hourly paysheets in the Paysheet Creation process instead of only for those employees with hours loaded in the Pay Update process. The risk of paying employees who shouldn't be paid outweighs the risk of not paying an hourly employee should the compensation change after OK to Pay is originally turned on for the Paysheet. To make sure hourly employee are not paid inadvertently, please delete the 03/01/2006 row inserted into the Pay Group Table for the B07, B08, RET, and RTB pay groups. Please be aware that any changes made to compensation for an employee in an "Hourly" pay group after Pay Calculation is initially run will result in OK to Pay being checked off on the employee's Paysheet. Standard hours will replace the hours populated from Time Entry. The application does not alert you that this has happened. The Hours Comparison Report (B0RR065) will assist in identifying employees whose time entry hours do not agree with paysheet hours. Running Pay Update once more will reload the time entry hours and check on OK to Pay. We continue to communicate with PeopleSoft for a permanent solution to this issue. |
