KI0030 - Open Enrollment Effective Dates for 1st January Biweekly / Impact on Comprehensive Benefits Report (BORR025)

Last modified: Jan+24%2C+2005

Number: KI0030      Status: release 3.08

In order for benefit and general deductions to be taken on the 1st January biweekly payroll, the effective date (Deduction Begin Date) will need to be on or before the pay period end date of 12/31/04. If you have already keyed in your open enrollment rows with a 1/1/05 Deduction Begin Date, then biweekly employees will need to be corrected to reflect a 12/31/04 effective date.

If you had initially keyed in your open enrollment dates for biweekly employees using a Deduction Begin Date between 12/18/04 - 12/31/04, then you do not need to make any changes to employee records for the 1st biweekly deduction to be taken correctly. However, a December date on the benefit enrollment pages will cause the employee to appear on the December Comprehensive Benefits Report with the change originally intended for January. We will continue to research this problem and post an update and/or programmatic fix to the BORR025 report later this week.

If you used a 1/1/05 effective date for open enrollment changes, then we advise you to run the Comprehensive Benefits Report for December prior to correcting the effective date to be between 12/18/04 and 12/31/04 for biweekly employees.
