KI0101 – Foundation Table Changes/Additions add HSA Benefit Plan to EXP, FTF & PAS Benefit Program Tables

Follow-up Information

The Accounting Issues Committee has determined that a standard account code will NOT be used for the new HSA Benefit Plan deductions:

Users should contact their internal Finance Department for an account code assignment prior to processing any payrolls for CY2009. Failure to populate the Liability Accounts-Non Commitment Accounting field located on the Deductions Table, will result in errors when running the G/L Interface File.

Note:: If a new account code is assigned for the new HSA Benefit Plan deductions that is not currently present in PeopleSoft HRMS users will need to setup the new account code prior to processing the G/L Interface.

Instructions for populating the Liability Accounts-Non Commitment Accounting field.:

  • Navigate: Setup HRMS>Product Related>North American Payoll>Deductions>Deductions Table (Correct History mode):
  • Find an Existing Value:
  • Plan Type: select “Health Savings Account” from the drop down menu
  • Click the Search: button
  • Navigate to the Process: link tab: key the assigned account code in the “Liability Accounts-Non Commitment Accounting” field located in the Process Information group box.
  • Save: the page.

Audience for this announcement is HR/Benefit/Payroll users responsible for the setup of the new HSA Benefit Plan.

Foundation Table Changes/Additions to add the HSA Benefit Plan to the EXP, FTF and PAS Benefit Program Tables

Purpose

To provide Foundation Table Changes/Additions instructions for adding the HSA Benefit Plan to the EXP, FTF and PAS Benefit Program Tables. The Foundation Table Changes/Additions spreadsheet contains the complete setup of the new HSA Benefit Plan. Steps 1 – 6 were delivered in Release 3.34, users are instructed to perform only Steps 7 – 12. These changes are attached and are also posted on the GaFirst HRMS Website.

Functional Impact

Institutions must complete the Foundation Table Changes/Additions Steps 7 - 12 to finalize the ability to enroll participants into the new HSA (Health Savings Account).

To enroll participants navigate to Benefits>Enroll in Benefits>USA-FSA Benefits. Plan Type: 67 Health Savings Account, Benefit Plan: HSAF – Health Savings Account – FAM (Family Coverage), HSAI – Health Savings Account – IND (Individual Coverage), information concerning Coverage Begin Date and Deduction Begin Dates may be found in Business Process BEN105 Elect and Maintain Benefits.
