Note: All primary presenters and co-presenters are expected to register for the conference and are responsible for their own registration fee, travel, and lodging.
Regular Session (45 minutes)
In keeping with the theme of the conference, presentations should include an activity that engages the audience. For example, a 45-minute presentation might allow 15 minutes for topic introduction and background information, 15 minutes for an audience participation activity, and 15 minutes for summary and questions. Please describe the activity that you plan to use to engage the audience.
Pecha Kucha Session (6 minutes and 40 seconds each)
Sessions featuring several Pecha Kucha presentations will be scheduled at various times during the conference. Pecha Kucha presentations are short, focused, energetic talks where presenters have 20 slides, each shown for 20 seconds. These sessions provide a great opportunity to hear from a variety of speakers in a condensed timeframe. Presenters have just 6 minutes and 40 seconds to explain their ideas before the next presenter takes the stage. Fifteen minutes for questions will be included at the end of all presentations giving audience members time to ask questions of the presenters. Because of the time constraints for these short talks we request that only one presenter speak during the 6 minutes and 20 seconds.
Poster sessions are an opportunity for presenters to demonstrate their work in a one-on-one setting. Presenters will have the choice of using a printed version of their poster (the size of the panels provided are 5 feet wide by 6 feet tall) or a digital display on a laptop (5-7 slides).
Presenters using a digital display will be provided with tables with power and wireless Internet access to present their posters. Presenters should plan on bringing their own laptops.
