General Information

The University System of Georgia Diversity Summit is Georgia’s system-wide conference devoted to the diversity of its public colleges and universities and the system office. The conference will be held October 28 – 29, 2009 at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center & Hotel located on the campus of the University of Georgia. The theme of the inaugural Summit, “Valuing Diversity and Committing to Inclusion in Dialogue and Practice,” focuses on diversity and its representation within senior administrative layers and academic units of higher education institutions. Sessions will focus on the role of leadership in achieving campus diversity and equity, cultivating a climate of inclusiveness on campus, and institutionalizing diversity through models, structures, and strategies. In addition, the Summit will include interactive discussions concerning institutional assessments, camps climate surveys, and looking toward the future in achieving diversity and inclusion system-wide. The Diversity Summit is co-sponsored by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia and the University of Georgia.

Who Should Attend

The Diversity Summit is targeted to senior administrators of Georgia’s public colleges and universities, as a whole, and their academic units. The Summit is open to institutional attendees and other interested participants. Some specific sessions will be devoted to Presidents, Provosts, and Vice Presidents. Registration is required.
