The University System of Georgia Diversity Summit is Georgia’s system-wide conference devoted to the diversity of its public colleges and universities and the system office. The conference will be held October 28 — 29, 2009 at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center & Hotel located on the campus of the University of Georgia. The theme of the inaugural Summit, “Valuing Diversity and Committing to Inclusion in Dialogue and Practice,” focuses on diversity and its representation within senior administrative layers and academic units of higher education institutions.
Sessions will focus on the role of leadership in achieving campus diversity and equity, cultivating a climate of inclusiveness on campus, and institutionalizing diversity through models, structures, and strategies.
The Diversity Summit is targeted to senior administrators of Georgia’s public colleges and universities, as a whole, and their academic units. The Summit is open to institutional attendees and other interested participants.
The Diversity Summit requires that attendees and participants register for this inaugural conference. Registration can be accomplished in one of three ways: telephone, fax, or mail. Note that a late registration fee will be assessed on or after October 12, 2009.
