| WHY: | Chancellor Davis assumed his duties leading the University System of Georgia's 35 colleges and universities on Mon., Feb. 6, 2006.
He began his tour of the University System's campuses on Friday, Feb. 10, with a visit to Georgia Gwinnett College -- the University System's newest institution. In all, Davis visited five campuses during his first month of service. He visited six campuses in March, 12 campuses in April, four campuses in May, and will visit eight campuses as well as the Skidaway Institute in June. There will not be a formally scheduled news briefing; however Chancellor Davis' visit will be open to news coverage. Skidaway marks the conclusion of the Chancellor's tour of the University System.
