The sculpture depicts the communities of the world coming together in
harmony through partnership. The center piece of this artwork is a
golden globe. Each winning partner of a program receives a globe
identical to the one at the heart of this sculpture at the award gala.
The original sculpture commemorating the Carter partnership Award was
designed by Professor Richard Mafong and is at display at the Carter
Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The artist has exhibited widely in the
United States and aboard, with work in the permanent collection of the
Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C.
