Area F Guidelines: History

The program of study in Area F for students majoring in history include required courses in foreign languages and history and elective options in other academic areas as determined by each institution selected from the list in C. below. Only lower division (1000- and 2000-level) courses are allowed and the total number of hours in Area F must equal 18. Courses related to the program of study in history are listed below under the following three general categories:

A. REQUIRED: Foreign Language sequence
(if not required in institutional options)
0-6 hours
B. REQUIRED: History courses 6 hours
C. Six (6) hours of electives selected from the following: 6 hours

Computer Science
Economics
Geography
Introduction to Asia, Africa,
  Europe or Latin America
Introduction to Local/Georgia History
Introduction to Religion
World or Western Civilization
Introduction to Philosophy
Minorities in American History
Political Science
Psychology
Sociology
Statistics
U.S. History Survey
Introductory thematic courses in history
