Area F Guidelines: Health Information Management

Area F for majors within the Allied Health Professions consist of 18 hours of lower-division (1000- and 2000-level) courses related to the specific health professional program of study or be prerequisite to courses required in the major.

Anatomy and Physiology
(Two course sequence)
8 hours
Accounting 3 hours
Management Information Systems/Computer
Application (with lab; including word
processing and spreadsheets)
3-4 hours
Guided Electives chosen from basic
computer science, accounting, management,
biological or social sciences
3-4 hours
Total 18 hours

Courses may be satisfied in institutional Areas A through E; in these cases, Guided Approved Electives (approved by the student's advisor) may be substituted into Area F.
