Area F Guidelines: Geology/Geological Sciences
Area F consists of 18 hours of lower-division (1000- and 2000-) courses related to the Geology program of study and/or prerequisite to courses required in the major:
| Geology | 0-8 hours (if not taken in Area D) |
| Chemistry | 0-8 hours (if not taken in Area D) |
| Calculus | 0-4 hours (if not taken in Area A or D) |
The remainder of the 18 hours (0 - 10 hours) must be other mathematics or laboratory science courses selected from the following list:
- Biology (for science/biology majors)
- Physics
- Calculus (additional courses)
- Organic Chemistry
Hours in excess of 18, and any prerequisite courses, must be counted in the general degreee requirements for the major
