Area F Guidelines: Engineering

Georgia Institute of Technology

Eighteen (18) hours of lower-division (1000- and 2000-level) courses related to engineering and courses prerequisite to higher level courses:

I. Science
Physics I (Calculus-based)
Physics II (Calculus-based)
8 hours
If the physics sequence is taken in Area D, then students will take eight (8) hours from the following:
Chemistry I and II
Biology I and II
Environmental Science I and II
II. Mathematics
Calculus III
Introduction to Differential Equations or
Continuous and Discrete Mathematics
8 hours
III. One (1) hour from Area A mathematics requirement 1 hour
IV. One (1) hour from Area D mathematics requirement 1 hour
Total 18 hours
