Area F Guidelines: Criminal Justice
Eighteen (18) semester hours in lower-division courses related to the discipline and courses prerequisite to major courses. Acceptable courses include:

REQUIRED AREA (COURSE): Introductory course in criminal justice | 3-4 hours |
| OPTIONAL AREAS (COURSES): | 14-15 hours |
- Introductory courses (to include appropriate multidisciplinary courses) in those social sciences upon which criminal justice is dependent as a multidisciplinary enterprise: sociology, psychology, and anthropology.
- Introductory/survey courses (to include appropriate multidisciplinary courses) in disciplines and subdisciplines providing valuable context or tools for greater understanding or more effective functioning: American history (early or modern), political science and legal studies, economics, English (speech), foreign language, mathematics (statistics) and accounting.
- Lower-division courses within criminal justice arguably essential to preparation for upper-division study in the major (e.g. criminal law and procedure, ethics, criminology, forensic science)
