Section 2.01.04: Cancellation of Classes
SUBJECT: Cancellation of Classes
REFERENCE: Memorandum from Vice Chancellor to Presidents, 1/25/82
If severe weather requires the cancellation of classes, "makeup" days should be scheduled on Saturdays with sensitivity to the problems that might arise. Saturday is the Jewish Sabbath and is also observed as the Sabbath by others such as the Seventh Day Adventists. If scheduling of classes on Saturday is necessary, those students and faculty whose attendance may conflict with their religious beliefs should be excused. Further, examinations or tests should not be scheduled on the Saturdays utilized as "makeup" days.
