POLICY
304.03 RELIGIOUS HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
Institutions in the System shall not schedule semester registration or the first day of classes on dates that conflict with major religious holidays (BR Minutes, Aug. 26, 1977, p. 4).
INTERPRETATION
Decisions as to which religious holidays are covered by this policy are left to the discretion of the administrators of individual System institutions since the characteristics of the student body and faculty may vary considerably among institutions. The intent and spirit of the policy should be honored by making special arrangements for individuals where such an action is deemed to be best for the institution as a whole.
