Meeting Minutes: Committee on Political Science

Minutes of the Regents Academic Advisory Committee
on Political Science (POLS RAC)
February 24, 2000

On February 24, 2000 at 2 :15 p.m., the meeting was called to order by the Chair, Harold Cline of Middle Georgia College. Dr. Cline announced that the appointed Dr. Ben Tate of Macon State College to be chair-elect for 1999-2000. He also introduced the immediate past chair, Professor Adam Stone of Georgia Perimeter College.

The following USG institutions were represented:

Twenty-two of thirty-four units were represented. A quorum was present.

The RAC POLS minutes of the previous meeting were distributed. The Minutes were previously approved by the members via e-mail.

There were no subcommittee reports.

Adam Stone's report on the POLS 1101 survey was noted and accepted as informational.

Ray Chambers of Bainbridge College announced that the Southern Political Review had several books that members could review.

Jack Waskey brought up the question of the location of the 2001 meeting Of the committee. After much discussion, the members agreed to continue the tradition of meeting at the site of the Georgia Political Science Association Annual Meeting.

Ben Tate became Chair for 2000-2001 and Jack Waskey of Dalton State College was chosen chair-elect.

There being no more business, Ben Tate adjourned the meeting at 4:00 p.m.
