- Coaching Education - Dr. Drew Zwald, Georgia Southern University
- Basic Instruction Program: Creative Ideas for Courses - Discussion lead by Dr. Debbie Dowdy, Coastal Georgia Community College

Institutional Reports - Each institutional representative shared events of interest and news from their institution.

Break-Out Session - Representatives from the two year and four year institutions divided into separate discussion groups to explore areas of common concern or interest.

Business

Fall Meeting/Location - Dr. Tom Ford, Columbus State University assumed the role as Chair of the Academic Advisory Committee. Dr. Ford announced that the Academic Advisory Committee Fall Meeting will be held Thursday and Friday, October 18 and 19, 2001 at Columbus State University.

Suggested Program Content - Several suggestions were made by committee members for discussion/presentation topics at the fall meeting. Suggestions included: Area and Facility Planning/Case Studies; Leadership Development Opportunities, Professional Development Plans, Faculty Work Loads, and related topics; Program Philosophies and Mission Statements (Why We Do What We Do); Fund Raising/Private Funding; Program Review Process/Assessment; and Creative Lab Opportunities (Home Schoolers, etc.). Committee members were also requested to send additional ideas to Dr. Ford.

Election of Chair-Elect - Walter Mason, East Georgia College, was elected to serve as Chair-Elect for SY 2001-2002. He will assume the role of Chair at the Spring Meeting, 2002.

Accolade - Dr. Jim Lidstone was recognized for his outstanding leadership of the BOR Academic Advisory Committee on PEHER for SY 2000-2001.
