Members in Attendance:

Charles Ash, Nancy Abraham, Charlie Hardy, Richard Harrison, Tom Ford Jr., Greg Hawver, Frank Spaniol, Debbie Dowdy, Walt Mason, Gary Preston, Sherry Padgett, Jim Lidstone, Jim Reedy, Jeff Rupp, Richard Oates, Jack Razor, Melvin Ottinger, Jackie Harbison, Catherine King, Grace James and Mamie Kennedy

The meeting was call to order at 3:15 p.m. by Chair Ash. He welcomed everyone in attendance and discussed the agenda for the meetings.

Ed Rugg, VPAA at Kennesaw State University, welcomed the committee to Kennesaw and stated he was looking forward to attending the technology presentation by Dr. Michael Staman.

The minutes of the May 14-15 meeting were approved as distributed.

Members shared information about what was happening at their institution. The main consensus was enrollments were down and EFT's have also decreased.

Chair Ash stated that at the BOR Executive Committee Meeting Area F's were discussed. From this discussion, the Executive Committee determine it would be in our best interest to resolve any Area F issues. Charlie Hardy agreed to chair this endeavor.

Charlie Hardy discussed the problems with the Area F's and asked if we could find common course areas for all of our majors. The major areas were divided into Health and Physical Education, Exercise Science, Recreation, Health Sciences, Athletic Training-Sports Medicine and Sports Management and Studies. Sub-committees were formed and would report the next day with their results.

Charlie asked each facilitator to send the purposed Area F recommendations on the listserve and request feedback. Recommended changes will be discussed at the Spring Meeting.

Greg Hawser gave a presentation on Leadership and Management. This information was based on a seminar he attended this past summer at Harvard University.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:00 noon.
