    2. Sharing information among institutions.
    3. Exploring networking and technology integration initiatives
    4. Discussion was held as to the best way to develop an instrument to catalog:
      1. GIS personnel (faculty/staff contacts)
      2. Academic departments housing GIS technology
      3. GIS hardware
      4. GIS software

    7. Concerns was expressed over continued BOR support of GIS projects, particularly in terms of University System site licenses for GIS software, which were cut unexpectedly and inexplicably.
    8. The committee expressed unanimous support for the proposed catalog.

    1. The committee debated name change options, then decided to revisit the status of introductory geography classes in terms of course content and naming.
    2. The committee agreed to place the problem on the agenda for the next annual meeting with an eye to making recommendations to the BOR.

  7. J. Bartley instituted a discussion regarding the opportunities for collaboration with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources in terms of the statewide Water Resources Study Initiative. Suggestions were made as to individual institutional involvement in the study.

  8. The committee agreed to hold its annual meeting in 2002 again in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the Georgia Academy of Sciences in Milledgeville.

  9. Meeting was adjourned at 12:10 PM

Respectfully submitted,
