Other Agenda items

  1. The Council again endorsed the policy of not allowing orientation courses as part of the degree requirements in the core curriculum. Institutions wishing to offer orientation courses may do so, but they must be outside of the required 120-hour degree program.
  2. The Council agreed to emphasize to the eCore committee the importance of having each of the affiliate institutions approve the eCore courses internally before they are submitted to us and that they should provide evidence that the existing eCore courses have been approved on those campuses. The Council also requested that new eCore courses be submitted in a timely fashion by each affiliate for approval.

The Council thanked Joe Crim for hosting the meeting at the University of Georgia. The next meeting is scheduled for Summer 2006 at either Georgia State University or Atlanta Metropolitan College.

The meeting adjourned at 10:15 am.
