Section 2.22: Students with Disabilities
The University System of Georgia is committed to providing equal educational opportunities to all students. We offer students with disabilities a variety of services and accommodations to insure that both facilities and programs are accessible. The information provided by the State System on working with students with disabilities is designed as an overview of the resources available and the policies and procedures in place that are intended to facilitate accessibility and academic success.
The University System values diversity as a means of enriching the educational experience of all students. To support this goal, disability as an aspect of diversity is regarded as an integral part of society. To that end, we work with students, faculty, staff and the larger community to create usable, equitable, and inclusive learning environments.
2.22 Students with Disabilities
All institutions of the University System shall adopt the common criteria for documenting disabilities and employ a common methodology for providing services to students with diagnosed disabilities.
The criteria for documenting disabilities can be found in Appendix DSP2. Specific documentation guidelines for nine disability categories are described in Appendix DSP3.
